Quick Start Guide – PinoyTrade Scanner for WooCommerce

This guide explains how to install, activate and use PinoyTrade Scanner for WooCommerce.

1. Requirements

  • WordPress website
  • WooCommerce installed and active
  • WordPress admin or shop manager access
  • Active PinoyTrade Scanner license
  • Internet connection for license verification

2. Download the Plugin

After purchase, you will receive a license email with your license key and secure download link.

  1. Open the license email.
  2. Click the secure download link.
  3. Download the plugin ZIP file.
  4. Do not unzip the file before uploading it to WordPress.

3. Install the Plugin

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New.
  3. Click Upload Plugin.
  4. Select the downloaded plugin ZIP file.
  5. Click Install Now.
  6. Click Activate Plugin.

4. Activate Your License

After activation, open the PinoyTrade Scanner license/settings screen.

  1. Enter the license email used for the license.
  2. Enter your license key.
  3. Click Check and save.
  4. If the license is valid, the scanner will unlock.

One license is valid for one website/domain, unless stated otherwise.

5. Open the Mobile Scanner App

The plugin includes a mobile scanner app that runs from your own WordPress website.

  1. Go to the scanner settings page.
  2. Find the Mobile Scanner App section.
  3. Use the Open Scanner App button, copy the app link, or scan the QR code.
  4. Enter the scanner access code when requested.

On most phones, you can add the scanner to the home screen as an app icon.

6. Search and Scan Products

You can find products by:

  • Scanning a barcode
  • Entering a barcode manually
  • Searching by SKU
  • Searching by product name

7. Update Stock, Price and Expiry Date

After opening a product in the scanner, you can update:

  • Stock quantity
  • Regular price
  • Sale price
  • Expiry date

Click Save changes to store the updates.

8. Barcode Management

The scanner barcode is the master barcode used by the plugin.

  • You can add a barcode to a product.
  • You can change an existing barcode.
  • You can clear/remove a barcode.
  • If the same barcode already belongs to another product, the scanner blocks the change.

9. Zettle Barcode Sync

If Zettle barcode sync is used, the Zettle barcode follows the scanner barcode.

  • Changing the scanner barcode updates the Zettle barcode.
  • Clearing the scanner barcode also clears the Zettle barcode.
  • Zettle barcode is treated as a sync copy, not as the master barcode.

10. CSV Import

The plugin includes an advanced CSV import for barcode management.

  • Use preview before importing.
  • Check warnings and conflicts before confirming.
  • Use safe import when you do not want to overwrite existing barcodes.
  • Use overwrite or clear options only when you are sure.

11. Troubleshooting

My license does not activate

Check if the license email and license key are copied exactly from the license email. Also check if your website has internet access.

The scanner is locked

The scanner is locked when the license is missing, invalid, expired or does not match the license email. The license settings page remains available so you can correct the license details.

The QR code does not open the scanner

Generate a new scanner access code and try opening the scanner link again. Also check if you are logged in with the correct WordPress permissions.

A barcode conflict appears

This means the barcode is already connected to another product. Check both products before changing the barcode.

Can I use this as a native Android or iPhone app?

No. The scanner runs as a secure web app from your own WordPress/WooCommerce website. It can usually be added to your phone home screen as an app icon.
